In the words of Audra McDonald, acting is "the holy communion between the audience and the actor." A communion I'm addicted to (which feels slightly ironic). Making people laugh brings this same type of spiritual harmony-- for a moment, a minute, or an hour-- we find joy together. I'm pretty addicted to doing that too. Maybe it's genetic.
